G'Day all,
I am very new to Kali and am having difficulty installing Kali on to my Toshiba Satellite laptop with a touch screen (details of laptop below).
I get the initial Kali screen (see image Kali1). I then select advance options and then select GUI Install (see Kali2) and then I get a screen like (image) Kali3 and the read light on the USB stops. I have also selected Install and auto install. All with the same result. Kali Live works well!

I have downloaded the latest Kali 64 Bit 2019.1a, a number of times and each time have conducted a checksum with SHA256 and on all occasions, the checksum has matched. I have used WIN32DiskManager and Rufus 3.5 to install the iso on to a USB 16Gb stick, and different sticks, once again with the same result.

Opps pictures go: Kali2, Kali1 and Kali3.

Try installing in text mode. I suspect it is a GPU driver issue. Once installed, it can be figured out.

Just FYI, windows information in computer specs is not that useful. I've never seen a case where windows specs are any useful.
Since the issue is graphic-related, what's the specific GPU model? Also, is it an Optimus laptop (Intel + Nvidia)?
