"Installation step failed"

Hi,

I've been trying install Kali Linux in vain and I've tried about 10 times now.

I have experience with Ubuntu Linux, so I'm not a complete newbie.

I'm trying to install Kali Linux into a Virtualbox VM.

The specs for the VM are as follows:

50 GB dynamic VDI disk image
A little over 6 GB RAM
50 MB video memory

My physical hardware is:
-i5 i3570 Intel processor
-16 GB RAM
-Samsung SSD disk
-Geforce GT 640 GPU

I have no problems with installation until it starts copying files.

Everything works, but then at about 68% I get the following error:

"An installation step failed. You can try to run the failing item again from the menu,
or skip it and choose something else. The failing step is: install the system."

After I select Continue, the install program proceeds to reinstall Kali, but the displays
the same message again.

Can anyone help?

Thank you, this works. Do you happen to know what could crash the installation process 2/3 through?

Not enough disk space or memory allocated to the VM but from what you mentioned, that is plenty (and much more than what is allocated in the pre-built VM).

There might be a clue in the console (Ctrl-Alt-F1) or maybe somewhere in the logs, in /var/log/syslog (Ctrl-Alt-F2)

Linux version of Kali Linux 2019.1a and 2019.2 I can not install it
I used rufus-3.5 software
And using DD mode
After selecting the Graphics Installer option, my system restarted

But the normal installation was no problem

Installation process up to 13% and this error has occurred....
