I have the initial parts of the installation complete, but when following the steps for XFCE to get a GUI I am hit with the following error:

wget https://kali.sh/xfce4.sh
--2019-09-04 17:41:13-- https://kali.sh/xfce4.sh
Resolving kali.sh (kali.sh)... 45.79.158.143
Connecting to kali.sh (kali.sh)|45.79.158.143|:443... connected.
GnuTLS: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated.
Unable to establish SSL connection.

Any thoughts?

Try the light ISO, it is built with XFCE

That worked on a separate USB, and also doing a fresh install and running the individual lines of code contained in that script package resolved the issue.

The interface is quite sluggish though, so I'm going to work on the settings a bit. Also, because the laptop is 4k, the resolution not ideal for the GUI, and it wont let me change it. When I get time I will have to hunt the display config down and manually enter a better scaled down resolution unless someone knows of an easier way.
