ibus unikey doesn't working on my kali linux

i have installed kali linux vesion 2019.2
after update i installed ibus-unikey to type vietnamese
- apt-get install ibus-unikey
- reboot
- ibus-setup // add vietnamese
- im-config // change to ibus
- setting / region and language / add vietnamese(unikey)
- reboot
then i can't type vietnamese excep i can type vietnamese in search applications
please help me.

I'm using ibus-hangul for Korean input and the issue I had was the toggle key. Somehow, it was set to ctrl-space and completely ignores the setting.

Try uim instead of ibus if all fails - I had issue with ibus with KDE and it was only accepting Korean input on certain applications.
