isolated root account issue?

Okay,

so i noticed several times now... if i leave my pc standby it locks out (as per usual) but it seems the root password does not authenticate from this screen and then i must login as a user and reboot and reset the the root account password ...


I am running off USB with persistence.. so maybe theres an issue there? but its weird... i must reset using passwd and re-enter a new root password if this happens after logging back in as a user account of which i created... that password always stays and works... but why not the password i set for root?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

One thing I would suggest is to get all involved parties in a room and go through a blameless post mortem. In this you?re not looking to place any blame, you want to identify what happened, then what went right, what went wrong and then from those you should have some take aways of things you can improve moving forward. The idea being, **** happens, let?s make it a learning experience and work to prevent it from happening again.
