howdy all. I'm booting kali 2019.4 from usb with persistence. when i initially boot up kali i don't get a login prompt it just goes straight to desktop after I select the boot option, however when the screen lock kicks in after however many minutes i get prompted with a login screen but the default root / toor user password doesn't work. I have to reboot to get back into kali.

I've made sure the password is correct using passwd, but it still locks me out! a real melon scratcher.

booting from USB on a 2012 macbook pro, having no other issues with it.

thanks!

1. ctrl+alt+F1 (go to cli mode);
2. sudo passwd kali ( ))) );
3. ctrl+alt+F7 (go to gui mode);

After it kali one isn't cryong, that I have not right password, I enter login kali and my password, and login screen just restarted (may be with xorg srv. don't know), and suggest me enter login and pass again. It just goes round and round.
