So I'm trying to install kali 2019.2 on an old AOpen mini PC with an Intel dual core CPU and 4GB of RAM.

When the computer boots it wants to load GRUB 2.02 and will not let me into the bios.

The only way I've been able to get to the kali boot menu is using RUFUS to burn an .ISO. and using these commands in GRUB command line:

Set root=(hd1,1)
chainloader +1
boot

That command will not work with a DD burn from RUFUS, or burns made by any other software I've tried.

From there I'm able to live boot with no issues. I'm posting this from a live boot now.

When I try to do a graphical install, I get the common (no cd mounted) problem.

I've tried entering this command a few different ways into the shell with no luck:

mount -t vfat /dev /sdb1 /cdrom

Also tried removing the usb drive and putting it back. I blew on it for luck.

I can't use a cd because the drive is broken.

My next move is probably going to be disconnecting the cdrom internally if no one has any answers here.

My main question would be what command would work to boot a RUFUS DD burn from the GRUB command line?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

Updates: I miss-typed it's actually 2019.4

Pulled the disk drive. No luck.
