Kali nethunter kex dont working

When i open kex via kex client or via vnc a desktop is open , but i cant do nothing, when i push the icons its not open.

1. Open NetHunter app.
2. Tap the 3 lines in the upper-left.
3. Select Kex Manager.
4. Tap Start Server.
5. Go back to your KeX client. It should be able to connect now.

A problem is not that i cant start the kex manager, i open kex manager, i see the desktop, in kex client, but cant do nothing in it, when i push the icons its not working.

Ok, did you try updating the Kali environment?

if not, first stop your GUI in KeX manager. Then, go to a nethunter terminal, and tap Kali.
from the command prompt, type

apt-get update && apt-get full-upgrade -y

if you have never updated Kali this way, then it will take quite a while to perform this task. When it drops you back to a blinking cursor, then the process is finished. Reboot your phone, and open KeX Manager, start KeX and open KeX Client.

Does this make any difference for you?

No ,its still not work for mi, i see the desktop of kex manager , in localhost, or via vnc but cant do nothing , i see the mouse, i can moove mouse, but then i push the icons it not open .

Just to clarify Vitkolker's response. (I also figured it out, but noticed he beat me to it):
When you setup your KeX, you are asked to create a password, and optionally, a "view only" password. The VNC viewer was setup to use the "View Only" password, which is why he was unable to interact with the desktop.

Hi, I'm a newbie and have same problem: only view desktop and can not tap the mouse.
I set Kex pass and did not set (said "no") view only password. so for sure I use right pass on Kex Client.

I have the same problem can view desktop but no tapping. More then that, suddenly It worked for several seconds and disappeared again

Use first password which you insert in kex manager, check root user, if you connect from pc uncheck local only.

I had a similar problem and this is how I resolved. I could enter remotely but I was not able to click over any icon. Time to time when I enter I had a few second to click or edit, during this short period of time seems work normally.
Without exit or close any app from my smartphone , I switched to termux app only to give it focus again. Quickly switched to Nethunter KeX and I could used for two more second! Every time I switches between apps I could use apps for two more second.
Therefore this is a good solution.


I thought that happend because smartphone not run batch process. Every time an app is not focused suspend its execution.
Finnaly, in my Huawei, I set up battery/use of battery (display a list of apps)/ternux/app start (default is automatic management) and choose manual management/batch run enable.
And this is a better solution than switch every two second beacause was a permanent solution.

Hi friends pls help me out. I install kali linux on x-tigi v18 pro and i was working well so i wanted to go back to Android and mistakenly exit termux afterwards i wanted to connect back but when i go to my nethunter kex page i received a failure message am using nethunter kex to connect as vnc desktop

After updating to new version my kex manager is not working, when i click on start server my screen goes blank and my device restarts.

so i installed nethunter kali linux nano on my 8.1 android tablet
then try to set nethunter kex passwd

this comes up ..any idea how to fix?

I believe KEX is only available on the full version of NetHunter. I could be wrong however.
