Hi after upgrading of xdrp and xorgxrdp last week during update and upgrade now I have problem with the RDP connection.
I'm initiating a RDP via mstsc (Windows 10). I connect succesfully to the machine. I see the xrdp login form. After logging in with correct credentials i recieve "oh no something has gone wrong" error.
I am using a standalone installation of Kali with Gnome.
When I login locally it works as expected.

Gnome version: 3.34.1-1
xrdp version: 0.9.12-1
xorgxrd version: 1.0.2.12-1

Have anybody faced this problem? What could I try to use the RDP connection again?
Thanks in advance.

I would like to update you :)

I found that it works as expected with xfce4.
The problem should be with latest version of xrdp and gnome.

You rock :D

I had the exact same thing: just run my usual "apt update/apt upgrade", which changed XRDP and a few other things (with a pause asking about sesman.ini) after which XRDP wouldn't or couldn't let me log in.

Sure, we could troubleshoot the situation, but switching to XFCE4 got things up and running again immediately. Myeah, I didn't care for Gnome much anyway ;)
