"apt-get update" worked ok.
"apt-get upgrade" downloaded all upgradables.
But after that.. During unpacking, it came with some errors and crashed my kali again. 😭

What does it means "

Could you give us more details?

It happend with me earlier too but that time i didnt made post and reinstalled my kali again in my pen drive (persistance).
This time (after fresh install), i thought i will make a backup image after doing "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade ".
So the update gone well.
But for upgrade.. It successfully downloaded the upgreadables and during depakaging i got error.. So after getting error, my upgrade finally stopped, so i restarted and now unable to log in.

I had the same problem and I had to reinstalled Kali but what does it mean that you are unable to log in? What do you see on the screen during this issue?
