View Full Version : Save persistence.
Good day dear Discussion Forums!
I created LiveCD as described in http://docs.kali.org/installation/kali-linux-live-usb-install. Everything works fine, but not being saved. I put new programs and reboot all have to be put again. Please tell me whether there is any such possibility that new installed packages persisted after a reboot?
I apologize for my English!:o

Hello,
Persistence works on USB, make sure you check the last section of the tutorial you mention which covers Persistence.

If done correctly then re-installed packages will be saved?

You can get an answer after adding persistence, installing some packages and rebooting :D

Yes, "re-installed packages" will be saved if you use a USB live with persistence.
About entering the command:echo "/ union" >> /mnt/usb/persistence.conf, get an error:echo "/ union" >> /mnt/usb/persistence.conf

It's not working for me. I've got persistence installed but when I boot with it no installation changes are saved across boots. Very annoying.
