I'm struggling with getting Kali running under WSL in Windows 10. This is a completely fresh install; the kernel is up and running but I can't get the KeX graphical user interface to install. The problem is a component of ettercap call ettercap-common. Here's what I get from apt-get:

The following additional packages will be installed:
ettercap-common
The following NEW packages will be installed:
ettercap-common
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 106 not upgraded.
926 not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 0 B/735 kB of archives.
After this operation, 2578 kB of additional disk space will be used.

I've tried to clean up the package database 40 different ways; most of them stop with "too many error messages".

It looks to be like the repository archive is corrupt, but I'm hardly an expert.

What can I do to get past all this?
