I've had this problem as long as I can remember, but it seems worse lately. I run Kali in VMWare. If I use an Alfa AWUS036NH, things like aircrack work fine. However, if I use the AR9271 based AWUS036NHA, things seem to work even better, except I get freezes and crashes. Sometimes the adapter just seems to stop working, and unplugging and plugging fixes things. On the worse end, VMWare gives me a "The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system" window popup. Are there known problems with the AR9271 driver?
