Command line acting strangely

I'm running Kali Linux 2020 on a Raspberry Pi 3b and most things are working as they should but last night When I type something in the command line and hit enter the cursor goes to the beginning of the next line and stops, nothing else happens.

I'm connected to my router, so its not a connection problem. If I press the Enter key the cursor will just drop to the next line and the next and so on, but no other key's do anything at all.

All the other tools work OK, its just the command line thats acting strange.

Any advice would be gladly recieved.
