Kali Linux not being able to detect hosts on the same network using nmap or netdiscover

I have installed Kali on bare metal and it has connectivity on the internet via wifi. I make some tests about discovering hosts on the same network using the traditional tools but it doesn't find all of them.
I have tested it with different routers and firewall disabled and it won't work. Any idea why?
