Today I downloaded 2021.3 VMWare virtual machine. Twice today I left it running with shells and files open and expected to come back to the desktop lock screen but it asked for username AND password and when I logged in everything I had open was gone. It doesn't happen every time the desktop locks. I ran ps aux after logging in and verified that everything is closed and those processes are not running in the background.
