View Full Version : Fractional scaling has opposite effect?

Hi, I am running the latest point release of Kali 64bit, both as bare metal and in a virtual box (imported with Ova file). On both, I have the default and awesome xfce 4.16. I praise whoever decided to make this DE the default one.

However, there is a weird issue. I have a 2880x1800 14'' screen, which means I NEED high dpi scaling or it's just completely impossible to see anything. The latest xfce is supposed to provide fractional scaling, and indeed it does exist as an option under "Display" settings, but for me it has the opposite effect! x1.0 is the biggest I can get. If I try 1.5 or 2.0, everything on my screen gets even smaller!

Naturally, I tried changing scaling to a value between 0 and 1, and yes, then things do get bigger on my screen, but they only get very blurry, everything, including text, so that doesn't work either.

I did a google search only to see no one reporting the same problem. What could be causing this?
