What is needed to install Kali on Acer C7 Chromebook?

Would the Samsung image work?

I've tried booting from a USB drive with the default .iso (used Universal USB Installer) and it wouldn't accept it. Considering the C7 is x86, not ARM, I'm guessing there's a bit of work to be done.

My mistake. I though all the Chromebooks were ARM. I guess I was wrong.:(

Thanks for reply though.

C7 has an intel sandy bridge in it. Full blown x86 and no sign of ARM.

chrbuntu's bootloader is probably a solid starting point though.

Has this thread died? I would really like to get Kali running on the Acer C7 Chromebook, but am having my own set or problems. I was using this article as my starting point http://chromebooklinux.blogspot.com/2013/03/installation-method.html

Just picked one up today, the 16gb SSD model. Any progress on this? Does the wifi chipset support injection? Plan on getting ubuntu running tonight but Kali would be nice.

I've got the Arm chromebook, but still you will need to sign and repack the Chromeos kernel for it to boot on the chromebook, copy over the firmware and modules. Its not a difficult task, but time consuming. There are a ton of guides that walk you through it. Less so with the x86 chromebooks but you should be able to duplicate most of it from the ARM guides.
