Cannot find installed software anywhere

So I want to install command | configure in my Kali laptop

I ran su, then dpkg -i [packagename].deb

it installs, yet when I try to look for it it does not appear, bot in the UI and via command, I ran apt list and it is not in that list

I tried running gdebi [packagename].deb and it "installed" but still, cannot find the software to run it

Any help would be appreciated
