Slow booting problem

Ever since the last upgrade, Kali has been painfully slow to load.

Before then it loaded OK. Now it's taking over 5 minutes to get to the login screen. Once logged in, performance is fine.

I am running Kali as a VM under VirtualBox. No other VMs under Virtual Box are having this problem.

Anyone else having this problem?

This is really getting frustrating.
It either takes 5 minutes to start
or
It black box locks up
or
It goes into command prompt
