Recently got around to performing an install on my laptop and have questions on completing on virtual machine setup including security of my main machine since I am currently on Windows 11, I do have Bitdefender for my antivirus but I constantly get stalled on various installations of updates and programs due to the antivirus constantly detecting a problem from my virtual machine. Any particular antivirus to use instead of Bitdefender? Better to perform a dual boot system? Just looking for guidance to be well off when it comes to my computers safety so to speak.

Thanks.

Kali contains many tools windows won't like, after all a great many can be used to compromise a windows machine.

Add your virtual machine folder to the excluded section of your anti virus to stop it nagging :)

A virtual machine is already sand boxed from the main host OS, you can check this in your VM manager its sometimes called side channel mitigations.
