New to forum and need direction please

I'm learning basic kali unix and I have a bash command that gives a different return than what is shown in a class I'm taking. I've tested it on shelltech.net and it looks good but when I use it the results are confusing. Just wanting to know if there is a place on forum to help with troubleshooting. Thank you

The bash command is going to show what is installed/stored on your own system, and this will often be different from the instructors system.
