Question WiFi adapter sees networks but can't connect to one

I am using Kali Linux (6.0.0-kali6-amd64) VM VirtualBox; distribution version is 2022.4.

My problem is that my VM sees my wireless WiFi adapter as well as WiFi networks but it cannot connect to my home WiFi; it just loads on top and then nothing happens. I've also verified the WiFi password.

    Here is my VM settings:

    Code:
    iwconfig
    outputs this:
    Code:
    lo no wireless extensions.

    eth0 no wireless extensions.

    wlan0 IEEE 802.11 ESSID:off/any
              Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=20 dBm
              Retry short limit:7 RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr:off
              Power Management:off
    Code:
    ifconfig
    outputs this:
    Code:

    Additionally,
    Code:
    iwlist wlan0 scan
    work perfectly.

Thank you for helping me in advance. I've just been on this issue for over a week, have tried everything I can think of.

It looks like your drivers and firmware are OK and is you can scan that would suggest all is OK.

    Set up wpa_supplicant for your WiFi change your network name (SSID) and the password to suit your own network. there is a single space between everything;

    wpa_passphrase <your-ESSID> <your-wifi-passphrase> | sudo tee -a /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

Then make sure you have an IP issued

    sudo dhclient wlan0
