Hi guys,

I'm trying to install Kali 1.0.6 to a virtual hard drive on Hyper-V (Win 8.1). It's failing to boot. Let me go into a little more detail.

I've downloaded the .ISO file, (I've even tried the Mini .ISO to see if it made any difference) from the official website.
I've created a new VM in Hyper-v. Set the internet connections etc..
I've started the install of Kali. Now.. this is what happens:

It installs everything fine, takes a long time, but does the job.

BUT THEN.

GRUB loader.
I choose to install/load/use the GL - no other system on the VHD..
It goes all fine up until the point it says "Reboot your system" and ensure liveUSB/CD is removed blah blah.
FINE. I do that. I hit "Okay".

Nothing happens. It takes me right back to the install screen. It appears GRUB is failing to load as I do not see anything until the new install screen.

I don't know why it's happening. I've given the VM dynamic RAM, 127GB of VHD space.. It's all identical to the Ubuntu 10.6 I can run in Hyper-V just fine.
If you want me to try again and post anything I find, I can do that.

Is there something not quite right between Hyper-V and Kali? Do I have to take a circuitous route to get it to work? Any help/step by step advice would be very much appreciated!

Thanks guys!
