    Change Macbook Retina Screen Resolution

I am having a problem trying to change the screen resolution in Kali. I have a retina macbook pro (2014) with iris graphics and the only resolution that is showing up in the display settings is the native 2560x1600 which is way too big and the text is way too small to be usable.

I have tried xrandr but it says the minimum and maximum resolutions are 2560x1600.

How else could I change the resolution in Kali? I'm stumped.

I have found a work around to the problem taken from this thread (https://forums.kali.org/showthread.p...ighlight=hidpi)

I used the following code to increase the font size for all menus and applications

    Code:
    gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface text-scaling-factor 1.8
Then I followed these instructions from the linked thread to change IceWeasel. (Type 'about:config' into the web address box to access the settings)

With Iceweasel I was also able to improve the UI via the "layout.css.devPixelsPerPx" preference name and set the value to 2.0
