WPS Cracking with Reaver issue

Hi guys,

Hope you are doing great.

I am using wifte-mod-pixewps = Not able to crack PIN
Reaver v1.5.2 mod by t6_x <[email protected]> & DataHead & Soxrok2212 = not able to crack pin, Failed to associate

I am using Internal Wifi in my Laptop Driver = iwl3945 Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] (rev 02)

Monitor mode = wlan0mon

Results are as follows with wifite scanning:

1 (20:10:7A:E2:7C:B8) 2 WPA 99db no
2 (20:10:7A:42:F4:24) 3 WPA 99db no
3 NETGEAR95 8 WPA2 16db wps
4 PS 10 WPA2 14db wps

Is this good signal strength? or I have to upgrade to External Wifi adapter, I am considering to buy TP-LINK WN722N

With Reaver Wash results are:

Does your internal wireless card support injection? Most internal cards don't, but you can check with these instructions -- http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=injection_test

If not, then you should upgrade to an external card that does support injection, which I recommend anyways.

-90 and -80 is definitely a bad range of signal strenght,
You should get closer to your access point in order to get something like -60 to be in very good conditions for a reaver attack

Yeah you need to move closer. If you miss even 1 message in the exchange the whole protocol will fail and you won't be able to break the pin; heck, you can't even associate. I've never tried the WN722N, but I've heard good reviews about it. The device I recommend is the Alfa AWUS036H. Yeah its old, but in my opinion it is still the best card on the market (just make sure you buy from a legit seller, there are a lot of fake ripoff brands. I actually bought mine from the guy at Reaver Systems, it was somehow cheaper than eBay, and it has a custom housing! http://www.reaversystems.com/collect.../alfa-awus036h)

That's defintly the best for "reavering" around. And it has much more sensibilty than wn722n. You will also notice about 25% more injection with a rtl8187l like in the Alfa in comparasion with ath9k_htc from wn722n. Also the wn722n does not make good desauthentification if you specify the client
If you can afford an alfa that the best choice for pentesting, it doesn't have "n" mode for connection , taht the only "limitation"
