Cannot ping with Kali on VM

Hi,

I am using Kali v1.1.0 with VirtualBox on my laptop and desktop. I noticed that I cannot ping anywhere, both local network and outside however I have no problem connecting internet from Kali. This is driving me crazy, any idea?

Laptop host OS --> Mac OS X Yosemite, and Kali VM network set to "Bridged Network" mode.

Desktop host OS --> Ubuntu 14.04, and Kali VM network set to "Bridged Network" mode.

so in both setups, Kali VM is getting a local ip from my router same as every other device in the house.


Update 29.08.2015 :

Problem solved. Before running the VirtualBox app, firewall of the "Host OS" must be turned off.
