    Kali Crashed Can't Re-install

Hello, a while back Kali had crashed on me I think I updated a wrong driver or something, not exactly sure what I did. But apt-get doesn't work, bash doesn't work, and the internet doesn't work. I created a bootable image of kali to a usb flash drive, and everytime I reboot to install kali linux the usb drive is just ignored... I set usb to top priority in bios... And I also uploaded some images I have more but I'll upload them tomorrow, with what information you ask for...

Have you tried wiping the drive, and then installing from USB?

If that fails, can you install from DVD?

The install seems to be truly trashed. Can you boot at all from USB?

    Hi there

As I saw in your photos, your working commands are all stored in /bin/ or /sbin/.
But if you want to use a command from /usr/bin/ or /usr/sbin/ such as aptitude, apt-get or service, it's not working.
Notice: Luckily gzip and gunzip is stored in /bin/ so you should be able to unpack any copy of the mentioned corrupt data.

Next: The cat command which is located in /bin/ so it should work too!

    - Could you please paste us the logs of your update which caused the crash? They are located in /var/log/apt/.

Also it would be interesting to see, which drives are mounted and which not. And if you could tell us please if you did any special partitioning..

    - Try "df -h" and paste it (Stored in /bin/ so should work).

All that is based on the theory of @gentrix with the corrupt directories. So if it's not right, please tell us!

    Then we can go further.

    regards, reidamaxia
