I recently made Kali i386 my primary operating system using a USB to install. I've added the old Sana repositories along with the rolling to update/upgrade. I am now trying to connect to a VPN via PPTP connection using nm-applet. The connection doesn't initiate, quitting in under a second. I've installed all required packages shown in several guides to setting up a VPN inside of Kali Linux. I have also tried all variations of settings inside of the nm-applet edit connections menu shown in other threads. I removed all files from the directory /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ and rebooted, still no luck. I had this problem on Arch awhile ago, but I do not remember what I did to resolve the issue.
