    Hash Sum mismatch

    Hi,

This is regarding an installation of the Kali 1.0.1 ISO in a VMware 8 machine.

After initial install the /etc/apt/sources.list file looked like this:
    Code:
    #

    # deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 _Kali_ - Official Snapshot i386 LIVE/INSTALL Binary 20130315-11:39]/ kali contrib main non-free

    #deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 _Kali_ - Official Snapshot i386 LIVE/INSTALL Binary 20130315-11:39]/ kali contrib main non-free

deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali main non-free contrib
    deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali main non-free contrib

    ## Security updates
    deb http://security.kali.org/kali-security kali/updates main contrib non-free
However when working with apt I always get "Hash Sum mismatch" errors.

After some reading I changed the sources as stated in http://wiki.debian.org/Derivatives/Census/Kali

    Unfortunately to no avail.

Does anyone have an idea how to get rid of the "Hash Sum mismatch" error?

    Cheers,
    Tom

just remove directory partial ~# rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/partial
    then ~# apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
    all fixed

I know 2 ways of fixing this-

    1. Change mirror in sources.list file. Go to https://www.blackmoreops.com/2013/11...ferent-mirror/ to see how it is done.

    2. Just wait for some time. It might be fixed automatically.
