[ HELP ] Installing NetHunter on Nexus 6P 6.0.1 W/ TP-LINK-WN722N

I'm coming to the forums as a last resort (I've googled my head off).

I'm new whole phone scene especially android, but I'm experienced with Kali Linux as an OS (So please correct my if I misuse terms )

I'm having issues getting my Wireless Adapter working with nethunter.

WHAT I DID IN ORDER:

1. I watched a youtube tutorial on how to root my Nexus 6P
2. I flashed Angler 2.7.2 and Kali nethunter 3.0 with TWRP
3. Everything seems fine (my camera and flash light don't work now but I don't really care about that, but might as well include it)
3. Kali Nethunter installed correctly. The custom splash screen shows and I have all the apps (Csploit, Nethunter, Hackers keyboard).
3. Everything seems to work, except Wifite and Aircrack-NG suite (I figured it was due to lack of packet injection capabilities etc so I bought the TP-LINK-WN722N WA.
4. Upon connecting the TP-LINK-WN722N to my Necus 6P using an OTG cable, I do NOT get a green flashing light and tried typing "ifconfig" and nothing new showed up.

*Note Worthy* While attempting to use Wifite, it says "airmon-ng requires the program iw". I ran an apt-get install iw and it said everything was up-to-date.

I'm new to the world of rooting phones etc. So please bare with me guys. I'm an OSCP student so this would be great to have working

Usually this:

means a bad nethunter install/busybox/missing drivers/kernel not fully installed.

My recomendation:

Do a clean install following this: https://github.com/offensive-securit...nethunter/wiki

The latest build from Google for the nexus 6P (angler) is 6.0.1 (MTC20F). See https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

Build the latest nethunter (3.1.0) following this: https://github.com/offensive-securit...ding-Nethunter

and the issues should be gone.

I have a problem getting the same wifi adapter to be recognised by my NetHunter 3 install on a Nexus 7 2013.

So I thought I would take your advice and try and build/install 3.1.

This is what I did.

I created a new vm (Parallels) with a clean install of Kali Linux 3 on my mac.

Once installed I logged into Kali on the vm and downloaded files from the GIT url as shown in the link above.

root@kali:~# git clone https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter
root@kali:~# cd kali-nethunter/nethunter-installer

That all worked. However I then ran a modified command line using the example in the link.

root@kali:~/kali-nethunter/nethunter-installer# python build.py -d flo --marshmallow

However it keeps failing saying that the device name is wrong. So I tried the exact line in the example and this also failed with the same error.

Can you help me figure out how the build NetHunter 3.1 for my Nexus 7 2013 wifi.

The objective of the exercise is to get the TP-LINK-WN722N to be recognised.

I am currently using a micro to standard usb connector - should I be using a Y-cable with separare power ? If so any recommendations welcome.

It took me ages to figure out why the little green light was not coming on the wifi card I had connected to my phone via the OTG cable.

Then I figured it out, Duh!!! All that time.....this is how I got the card to be recognized and work, lol
ifconfig wlan1 up (as in wlan1 is the name of the external wifi device added via OTG cable)

Now sometimes and i do mean sometimes, wifite does not work straight away, its like it has issues putting the card into monitor mode, so i basically give a nudge by running airodump-ng wlan1, i then stop airodump-ng and run wifite and it works.
wifite is very effective against routers with a railink chipset. (as in under 1 minute to crack wpa)
anyway hope this helps..

Dont mean to necro this but kruntor do you mind me asking which nethunter image you're using, and what android version? I just installed kali on my nexus 6 and everything is working EXCEPT for the phone wont recognize the 722N.

To answer your question.
I am using Nexus 6 Marshmallow - Build MOB30I - works perfectly...

I thing I would like to mention is, the cable - you must get a decent cable - through trial and error I have found the best cable for the nexus 6 to be, the usb cable from a nokia n8, I have modded this cable to give an excellent fit, the cable here comes with a square connector, I simply got a small file and filed the corners enough to make a tight fit into my nexus - careful not to file to much or you will ruin the cable, this gives a really secure fit to my nexus and as such I have never had any issues.
My wifi card ( TP-LINK-WN722N) is always recognized , where as before it was hit and miss when using other OTG cables.
