I am attempting to setup my bluetooth on a hp laptop with internal bluetooth. The system is currently duel booting with windows.
The bluetooth does work in the windows os, but not in kali. I have looked up several tutorials and discussion posts to no avail. All of the posts I found were out of date, did not work, or did not apply to my situation.
I believe that the bluetooth is working is because when I run dmesg | grep blue I get this response:
[ 1683.160341] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.22[ 1683.160419] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized[ 1683.160424] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized[ 1683.160426] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized[ 1683.160432] Bluetooth: SCO socket layer initialized[ 2110.774915] Bluetooth: BNEP (Ethernet Emulation) ver 1.3[ 2110.774917] Bluetooth: BNEP filters: protocol multicast[ 2110.774924] Bluetooth: BNEP socket layer initialized
Unfortunately when I run btscanner I get this:
Opening the OUI databaseReading the OUI databaseFinished reading the OUI databaseNo Bluetooth devices available
I have also tried to use the bluetooth manager in the gui, but it does not help either.
If you need any additional information please do not hesitate to ask. I am still new at this, but I will do my best to supply you with any information you request.
All suggestions are greatly appreciated.
