I. CREATING A TARGET.


In the OpenVAS management console go to the "Configuration" tab and select "Targets":




Once in the ?Targets? menu, add a new target via the tab where the pointer is located:




Name a title and add an ip address to target and choose port types: (Port List)

II. CREATING A TASK.



Then go to the ?Scans? tab to add a new task:




Once in the task menu select a new task:




Name your task and select the previously created target:

Start the task by selecting the play button:




The task goes through 3 steps ?Requested?, ?Queued? and ?running?:

Then go to ?Results? to view the results of your task:
