Ello there all.
I'm new to Kali and after getting a bit limited within VirtualBox I decided to go for the full install.
I've installed Kali alongside OSX using rEFInd and I can get into the boot stage (select Kali) and then a lot of text comes up (don't know what this is called) and after that screen disappears I'm left with a black screen with a blinking line (yes I have seen the other thread and searched quite a lot with no fix).
Recovery mode just gets stuck on the text screen . I can boot into Kali live to check any files required.
Could this have something to do with the graphics drivers as they are being disabled?
I had a previous issue of "i915 0000:00:02.0: Invalid ROM contents", so next to I added GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet nomodeset nouveau.modeset=0 i915.modeset=0 radeon.modeset=0"
Some outputs:
lspci | grep "VGA com"
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Whistler [AMD Radeon HD 6600M Series]
lspci | grep -i 915
lspci | grep -i nvidia
uname -a
Linux kali 3.14-kali1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.14.4-1kali1 (2014-05-14) x86_64 GNU/Linux
GPU: AMD HD 6750M
2011 MacBook Pro
Can anyone point me in the right direction as for fixes or log files?
Also please excuse anything if I haven't described it properly, as I'm not yet aware of the correct terminology.
Thanks,
Jason.
EDIT:
After doing this install:

the blinking no longer occurs, however, there is just a black screen after the text.
