Cant install Kali on EMachines E527

Hi There

I am having endless problems trying to get my bootable USB to be seen by an EMachines E527. I even made a bootable DVD and still the same issue. The machine simply wont see either the USB or the DVD. I installed windows 10 on the machine no problem. If I put the USB into the machine Windows tells me the device is unrecognizable, while the DVD just doesn't start even register. I put both the USB and DVD into my desktop and they work perfectly. What can I do as I want use this laptop for my Kali use. Please give me some pointers.
