Deleted default login account, now stuck on timer (no login)

hello to all, i have been using kali linux for about 3 months and loving it. all my questions have been answered by a quick google search but for this problem i cannot find the right search field or way to explain correctly cause no results relate to what happened to me, although the solution is pretty basic im sure.
anyway, i had a admin as a default login without password and since i always use root. i decided to delete the account and reboot but after kali linux loads it stops at the timer (where the account would normally load) how can i fix this?

Kali Linux 1.0.5 / GNOME / amd64 / HDD install
