Cannot find repositories when running "sudo apt-get install"

I have downloaded the PWK 2020.1 Kali VM. Tried downloading various repositories and binaries such as go, python-ldap, python-pip, etc. Everytime I run these commands, it always ends up with "E: Unable to locate package".

I was able to run these commands successfully on earlier versions of Kali, but the 2020.1 PWK Kali is coming up short.

I peeked into the /etc/apt/sources.list file and it had the correct default line, which was "deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib"

Does anyone know where the problem might be or how to fix it?
