Issues at Download
Hi everyone,
I have been encountering multiple issues when downloading kali linux with MS Edge and powershell, none using curl on terminal.
My findings:
- download stops at some point, it can be after 100 Mo have been downloaded or 3.2 Go (yes I was frustrated on this one :) ).
- it seems, that I can have different behaviour. One of them is that my host will connect via https and eventually switch to http, with no response from kali's websites afterwards. From start, I can also have a http connexion when downloading from an ftp link. I can provide more information if required.
- I tried once with PowerShell, it eventually said the stream was too long and stopped the download. I am still investigating the details. I suspect it could be because of maintenance on Kali's side (it happened at night around 00.15 and after that, the downloading link had changed)
- With a standard command prompt, it has worked like a charm twice in a row. First time took about 1 h 30 min and the second time only 59 minutes.
You should know that this PC is brand new, I have been using MacOS most my life so I am still trying to grasp the details of its functioning. I did download once on MacOsX (Catalina I believe) and I had no issues at all - same wifi network.
I really am curious to understand why I would get such behaviour, if possible. So I'll appreciate any input. :)
Best wishes,
Gilto
