How to make URLs ctrl+clickable in terminal?

Hi all,
I have a simple question. I would use Ecosia to find the answer, but I do not know what the default Kali GUI terminal is, and I do not have access to my Kali installation at the moment, so I thought I'd just ask here.
My question is: how to make URLs open in the default browser by ctrl+clicking on them? They are underlined when hovered over, so they are detected, but ctrl+click does nothing. The context menu item for opening the link also does not work, even when highlighted.
