Why ecryptfs-utils is missing from Kali Repos.

Hello, this is my first time asking a question in this forum hopefully I'm putting it in the right place. Basically I'm a little confused why the main tool used to encrypt directories on linux is no longer available in the kali repos. I've tried searching online to find the reason it was removed or if there is a replacement tool available but i've come up empty. The temporary solution was to add Ubuntu Repos that still have the tool but this is just a temporary solution and hopefully there is either an new alternative or maybe it was just accidentally removed from the repos? Any help or guidance appreciated.
