metasploit web ui, anyone get it working?

Anyone else try the metasploit web ui yet? I went through the rapid7 forums with no luck. No matter what I try the webserver fails to start. I did notice that it generates that no /opt/metasploit/apps/pro/ui/log/thin.pid is generated. Permission issue (unlikely as it is root)? Missing support in arm package? Is there a separate service that has to be white listed for thin? If so, I haven't found it yet...
