No network in Network Manager, Cant connect to wifi. But airodump-ng working

I've just started kali for a month and just know all the basics. I have dual booted kali with windows using USB.

I can search for networks using airodump-ng.But I cant connect to any of the network.

but i followed other thread's solution and blocked ideapad

and there is no wifi switch on my laptop

Can you provide a link to that thread where you got that solution? Though you have successfully blacklisted the ideapad_wlan driver yet i still want to see the output of lsmod and cat /etc/modrobe.d/blacklist.conf.

I get a simialr problem with my rtl8812au card when i use kismet, or similar programs. I think the issue is that kismet puts the card into monitor mode and gets stuck there ...if I close kismet then remove the card and reinsert it (or rmmod rtl88xxau, then modprobe it again) it starts working. Just a thought?

Can you give me a step by step guide :) I'm still quite new to this :( Thanks mate

I was not able to find the conflicting driver but rtl8821ae can be one. It may be a legitimate driver of your wifi adapter but still give a try and blacklist it.
