NetHunter 3 Install on Nexus 7 2012 Grouper

For some reason my nethunter 3 install is failing on Nexus 7 Grouper. I boot to TWRP to flash the zip and it appears to finish but I get a lot of repeat errors afterwards in the TWRP console (see below). I can boot into my Nexus and I even get the custom animation, wallpaper, etc. However, it looks like the chroot environment is not intact. For example, if I attempt to start a kali shell I get /bin/bash not found. Any thoughts? Thank you!

I am also having this issue on my One Plus One.

I factory reset the phone, downloaded nethunter-oneplus1-lollipop-3.0.zip, confirmed MD5 and during flash on latest TWRP (twrp-2.8.7.0-bacon.img) I get a load of errors just like OP.

I even tried making sure the OS was rooted with SuperSU first, unclear if this is necessary?

EDIT:

I have now tried the following:

Wipe all partitions then flash latest signed image (cm-12.1-YOG4PAS3JL-bacon-signed.zip) then flash NetHunter over the top. No luck, same errors and result.

Am I missing some critical step here?
For reference I am using a US 64GB Oneplus One.

I too can replicate this problem. exactly the same error with ram 12,14,16,10,13,15,4 and loop6 not being a directory

installing on a nexus 5 with twrp over a fresh marshmallow rooted install with busybox and supersu.

i hope this can be assessed quickly, the new interface looks slick.. Gotta love nethunter :)

Same problem, but with rooted nexus 4 android 5.1.1 & TWRP

I got, what I believe, is a related error. I finally did get this running after flashing 3-4 times (exact same steps every time)

Nexus 7 2013 LTE previously running rooted AOSP 6.0.1 w/ TWRP

Downloaded the zip, verified the hash, transferred to Nexus, flashed, everything seemed to go fine through the installer. However, once the installer finishes the TWRP logs show the same "Not a directory" errors, but says successful.

Reboot and I see the Kali boot screen, which then goes to the "Android is starting" message (I believe that's what it said, or something similar) and "loading apps" with a spinning wait wheel. It would hang here, I gave it 40+ minutes. After flashing 3-4 times, and getting the same errors each time, it finally just worked. I saw the Android is starting message, but instead of hanging, it finished starting in about 5 seconds and seems to work.

Sometimes must instal NetHunter second time... In Oneplus One version 3.0 it's works... but unstable... Frozen fon.. etc...

i just installed nethunter 3.0 on my nexus 7 (2013), it was a succesful install, i did replicated the errors at the ending log but it boots up fine and everything seems working ok, thank you for this!

fresh install of nethunter 3 (flash zip via twrp) on nexus 7 2012 (grouper):

I've been testing nethunter 3.0 with my nexus 5 and 7 ignoring this install errors, everything is working perfectly so far. Thank you for this useful tool.

i could not find the kali chroot manager app.

finally solved :)

I removed "TWRP recovery" and install "CWM recovery"

1. wipe dalvik cache
2. install from zip

installation 100% completed without any problems :)
started with new chroot with kali applications
NEXUS 7 (2012) (lollipop 5.1.1) (Grouper)

Those errors did not effect the system from working

After installing Nethunter 3.0 on grouper, i get a kernel panic stating my kernel is too old. Can someone share a link to a built marshmallow kernel?
The nightly builds do not have a MM kernel, only KK

And I find not so good solution.
1. Install AOSP with kernel 3.4
2. Install nethunter-generic-arm64-kalifs-minimal-rolling-3.15.2-20161016-0305.zip to Nexus 7 Nougat (Android 7.1)
3. Reinstall Terminal

But much better bilding Nethunter for Grouper Nougat.

How can I update kernel 3.4 lollipop from here?
I try rebuild boot.img, I try using anykernel2.zip, but unsuccessfully: loop reboot device.

I have the same errors but I never boots, it just sits at the google logo screen. does anyone have a link to the nethunter 2 installer for nexus 7 2012 wifi so i can at least get it working again. Thank you.

i beleive it meams your install worked.....because as its updateing partion details its only looking for directories....anything thats an else: but will read as an error. The nethunter system files are using those portions as "physical" memory not stored data in a directory just like other "virtual systems" so at lest when you see that you see it as assigned ram to your virtual system and thats a good thing!! :) so it sees it as and error because its not looking for ram its looking for block space within a directory like examle ~/dev/sdb1 will have so many sectors of space, its looking for that . And since they are not directories but space used for physical memory you get and error for this is not a directory.

Are you using multi rom?
