KDE black screen after login [dual boot win10]

Anyone know how to fix the blackscreen issue after successful login to KDE Plasma? I have just fmsuccessfully finished my install from usb and am dualbooting with win10 on my system first. other desktops work fine, only plasma giving me problems. To be honest im pretty new to linux so any solution may need to be dumbed down a bit but maybe not.

Also, during software selection section of install, im only offered 3 DE's, (Xfce, Gnome, plasma) is this correct or did i miss something? Please help. Am losing sleep over this issue. Thanks!
