If I type ifconfig, everything looks kosher.
I then type airmon-ng
The interface is recognised as wlan0 but the chipset is unknown, I think this may be my problem. It also displays my driver rtl8192se -[phy0]
Other than this I have no idea why I cannot connect to the internet even though I am clearly connected to my home wifi connection.
Would really appreciate any help, have been trying to solve this for hours now...
Same problem. Same wifi works on other same laptop but not kali linux 1.0.9 one.If I disconnect internet then start it works for a few seconds, then stops.I think it maybe the way kali is configed not to allow automatic network connects they should be manual, or it might be interfering with a pen test software.Learning for first time just my .02 speculation.

Same problem here : interface / wlan 0 chipset / unknown driver / rt2800pci - [phy0] .... i can connect to the network without a problem but i don't get internet .... is there no fix for this ? it used to work with older versions of kali and even backtrack
