I have not seen anyone been able to do it properly and make all scripts/software's working without encountering MANY MANY MANY issues. The only time I've personally managed to do it properly from ground up is when I used LFS (Linux from Scratch) with the expense of troubleshooting all badly written scripts that assumes root being the superuser.
My advise, don't do it unless you have a real reason for it, i.e. some Business Analyst who got too much authority to force bad decisions on IT! (we all know what that means!). ahemm.. :rolleyes:
