Touchpad stop working sometimes and reboot is needed (i2c_hid_get

Hi,

From time to time (every couple of days) my touchpad stops working. When this happens my kern.log gets flooded with the following messages:

kali kernel: i2c_hid i2c-ELAN2203:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (14/65535)

The only way to make it work again is to reboot. Also if I try to connect a USB mouse when this happens, the mouse does not work either.

I have search the internet and seen similar issues on other distros but users reported that their logs get flooded with those messages constantly and their pointing devices seem to function properly. My case is different in a sense that I have no such messages in my log unless the issue happens and then the touchpad stops to work.

Did anyone have such issue before? Any known or suggested solution?
