very weird, symbols (' " - `) instead fo numbers in kali

right after running "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -y" on fresh vmware installations and even in old 2013 iso install, the numbers in kali change for (' " - `) -attached screenshots-, anybody might have a clue before my paronid strtarts kicking? this is running on vmware fusionAttachment 4772Attachment 4773Attachment 4774

After confirming locales, I logged out and back in. It all went back to English. (I think it is arabic?)
