luks encryption on...

Hello everybody,
iam new here i signed up just because of that question. I have almost search the whole internet to find a answer but without success.
i hope that someone here can help me.

iam using kali for a long time on a enyrpted usb persistence
that usb device started to get pretty full so i want to install it on my laptop.
the problem is that my wife sometimes want to use windows so i have to make a dual boot.
seting up and instaling a dual boot is not the problem.
but is it possible to use the luks encryption just for the kali partition? does it make sence?
or is it unsecure because the "open" win partition?
and IF it makes sence what kind of partitions i have to create?
maybe somebody has a small "how to" for me
