Kali live - USB: moving /root into the persistence partition

Hi,

I'm using Kali 1.0.8 live, booting from a USB disk on key.
I made the persistence volume and it mounts OK.

Now, I want to use pyrit and make the changes it does - permanent (like import_passwords and such .. ).
I tried editing the .pyrit/config and point the location to the persistent volume but this file is stored on a non persistent location so it's initialized on the next boot.

So I guess in some way I should change the way /root is mounted and make it mount on the persistence volume.

How do I do it ??
